Audi Q2 (2016-2025) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |

| The interior is a cut above | Cramped rear seats and modest boot space |
| Most engines are fuel efficient | Firmer ride of S Line models |
| Quirky styling makes a change from Audi's usual conservatism | It's an expensive used buy |
Quick Summary
The Audi Q2 (2016-2025) is the entry-level SUV in Audi's successful line-up and one of the company's biggest sellers. Its quirkily styled exterior, with bold creases and a prominent grille, sets it apart from Audi's usual conservative design language. The cabin is exceptionally well-appointed, featuring dignified class, excellent material quality, and user-friendly controls with an MMI dial-controlled infotainment system supplemented by intuitive buttons and knobs. Whilst rear seats are somewhat cramped and boot space is only average compared to rivals, the Q2 taps perfectly into the current compact crossover and SUV market.
Most petrol-powered Q2s are front-wheel drive, with quattro four-wheel drive reserved for diesel models and the range-topping SQ2. The Q2 is competent and enjoyable to drive, with light steering, acceptable ride comfort, and sufficient grip for confident cornering. Fuel efficiency is strong across the range, with the 35 TDI quattro returning up to 50.4mpg and the front-wheel-drive 35 TFSI manual achieving 47.9mpg. Good residual values offset the premium pricing, making it an attractive proposition for buyers seeking a premium-badged compact SUV with quality and refinement.
Best for: Buyers seeking a premium-badged compact SUV with excellent interior quality, those prioritising fuel efficiency and low running costs, and drivers wanting stylish, quirky design with practical everyday usability.
Not ideal for: Those needing maximum rear legroom or boot space, buyers on a tight budget seeking mainstream alternatives, or drivers expecting thrilling driving dynamics (consider the SQ2 instead).

The Verdict
You should buy the Q2 if: You seek a premium-badged compact SUV with excellent interior quality, prioritise fuel efficiency and low running costs, or want stylish, quirky design with practical everyday usability.
Consider alternatives if: You need maximum rear legroom or boot space, are on a tight budget seeking mainstream alternatives, or expect thrilling driving dynamics.
Competitive Position: The Audi Q2 (2016-2025) is a strong contender in the compact SUV market, offering premium quality, excellent interior design, and good fuel efficiency. Whilst it doesn't match rivals like the MINI Countryman for user satisfaction or the Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class for prestige, its distinctive styling, refined cabin, and strong residual values make it an attractive choice for discerning buyers. The Q2 represents a sensible balance between premium appeal and practical everyday usability, though space-conscious families may find alternatives more accommodating.

4.5 Overall rating
(8 reviews)Car was great, very surprised at how nippy the 30tfsi is as I drive a 2.0 litre diesel Q3 at present. Sline model has a lot of good features on it including the virtual dash and was surprisingly roomy for a smaller car. The car was competitively priced. I have a Quattro and would prefer a Q2 quattro, this is only reason I was put off as the one I test drove was a front wheel drive.
Lovely compact car, drive beautifully and smoothly. All u need is there ,SatNav,speed control, parking sensors, cruise control,-nothing too much,- nice interior, good size boot space.,maybe only issue is the space at the back seat, as its compact is a bit tight.otherwise its a lovely car.
upmarket interior and easy sat nav. Good reliability and economy
Good on fuel nippy around town great size for the wife to drive . She highly recommend it .
We think this car was exactly what we wanted at this point in time
