Having only having the car a short while it performs above my expectations. Very economical and comfortable. The added features like electric tailgate is a definite bonus. Road tax only being £20 also helps. Yes I would recommend this car.

A spacious family car, has a child lock feature which is reassuring if you are driving with children on the back seat and a great sized boot or either luggage or family dog. This car is economical and reliable to run. 5 stars.

Citroën C4 Picasso (2013-2018) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Surprising kerbside appeal for an MPV | Not as sharp to drive as a Ford C-Max |
| Airy and spacious interior | Citroën has a poor reputation for reliability |
| Low running costs, especially if you choose a diesel | Some rivals have longer warranties |
Quick Summary
The Citroën C4 Picasso (2013-2018) is a stylish five-seat MPV that defies the notion that people carriers must look dull. With its striking LED daytime running lights, well-proportioned profile, and handsome rear end, it offers genuine kerbside appeal. The interior is equally impressive, featuring an airy, spacious cabin with a clean, unfussy dashboard. The three equally-sized rear seats move independently, providing excellent flexibility, whilst the 537-litre boot expands to 1,851 litres with the rear seats folded flat.
Comfort is a priority, with excellent ride quality that absorbs bumps and broken surfaces effectively, complemented by impressive soundproofing. Around 90% of sales were diesel-powered, with the 1.6-litre HDi variants delivering real-world fuel economy of 60-65mpg, whilst the 1.2 PureTech petrol achieves 40-45mpg. Insurance groups are low (14-25 out of 50), and Citroën offers affordable servicing and fixed-price maintenance plans. The C4 Picasso represents an excellent all-round package for families seeking practicality, comfort, and style, though it isn't as engaging to drive as the Ford C-Max and reliability is a concern.
Best for: Families prioritising comfort, space, and style; those seeking low running costs with diesel engines; and buyers wanting an attractive alternative to conventional MPVs.
Not ideal for: Drivers wanting sharp handling dynamics; those concerned about manufacturer reliability records; or buyers requiring extended warranty coverage.

The Verdict
You should buy the C4 Picasso if: You're a family prioritising comfort, space, and style; seeking low running costs with diesel engines; or wanting an attractive alternative to conventional MPVs.
Consider alternatives if: You want sharp handling dynamics, are concerned about manufacturer reliability, or require extended warranty coverage.
Competitive Position: The Citroën C4 Picasso (2013-2018) is a class leader in the five-seat MPV sector, offering the best all-round package with striking design, exceptional comfort, and low running costs. Whilst the Volkswagen Touran provides greater reliability and the Ford C-Max delivers sharper handling, the C4 Picasso's superior styling, spacious interior, and excellent value make it highly competitive. Its 53.3% good/great deals rating significantly outperforms rivals, making it an outstanding choice for budget-conscious families seeking practicality without compromise.
