Customers say
The Citroen Grand C4 Picasso is well-regarded for its spacious interior and economical performance, making it an excellent option for larger families. Owners particularly appreciate features like the media system and the reverse parking camera, which enhance driving convenience. However, some drivers have noted that the boot space is smaller than expected, which can be limiting when traveling with a lot of luggage. Overall, it's praised for comfort and practical design, but the limited boot space is a common concern.

Absolutly great car for so many uses, i use it for camoing trios carries everything needed for a complete weekend away, also good for doing booties as all seats drop flat so its almost better than a van but more comfortable. So a versatile allrounder

Citroën Grand C4 Picasso (2013-2020) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Brilliant cabin, with space for seven and lots of clever features | Not as fun to drive as a Ford S-Max |
| Soft suspension delivers a comfortable ride | Steering is overly light and remote |
| Good looking for an MPV | Some owners report electrical faults |
Quick Summary
The Citroën Grand C4 Picasso (2013-2020) is an exceptionally practical seven-seater MPV that prioritises family comfort and versatility above all else. The second-generation model, which received a facelift in 2016 and was renamed the SpaceTourer in 2018, offers a brilliantly designed interior with intelligent seating arrangements. The panoramic windscreen, super-skinny pillars, and low window line create an airy cabin with excellent visibility for all occupants. Three full-sized middle-row seats slide, recline, and fold individually, whilst the third-row seats stow neatly in the boot floor, making access straightforward and the car genuinely flexible for families.
Ride quality and quietness are prioritised over handling prowess, with a soft suspension that absorbs bumps effectively on motorways and urban roads. The range of engines—including turbocharged 1.2-litre PureTech petrol and 1.6-litre and 2.0-litre BlueHDi diesels—are smooth, quiet, and flexible, delivering real-world fuel economy of 50-60mpg on longer runs. Running costs are competitive, with fixed-price servicing available and road tax as low as £140 annually for pre-April 2017 diesels. Even base Touch trim includes two-zone climate control, cruise control, reversing sensors, and Bluetooth connectivity, whilst higher trims add massaging seats, electric tailgates, and blind spot monitors.
Best for: Families needing seven seats, those prioritising interior space and practicality, drivers seeking a comfortable and quiet ride, and buyers wanting excellent value in the MPV segment.
Not ideal for: Drivers seeking engaging handling or spirited performance, those who prefer a more premium driving experience, or buyers concerned about potential electrical issues.
Comparison vs Key Rivals

|---|---|---|---|---|
| Citroën Grand C4 Picasso | 4/5 | 4.9/5 | 45.0% | 4.3/5 |
| Seat Alhambra | 5/5 | 5.0/5 | 33.8% | 4.3/5 |
| Renault Grand Scenic | 4/5 | 5.0/5 | 32.5% | 4.2/5 |
| Ford S-Max | 4/5 | 4.8/5 | 27.6% | 4.3/5 |
The Verdict
You should buy the Grand C4 Picasso if: You need seven seats, prioritise interior space and practicality, seek a comfortable and quiet ride, or want excellent value in the MPV segment.
Consider alternatives if: You desire engaging handling, prefer a more premium driving experience, or are concerned about potential electrical issues.
Competitive Position: The Citroën Grand C4 Picasso (2013-2020) is an outstanding choice in the seven-seater MPV market, offering exceptional practicality, clever design, and excellent value. Whilst the Seat Alhambra edges ahead on expert ratings and user satisfaction, the Grand C4 Picasso delivers superior value with 45% good or great deals available. It prioritises comfort and versatility over the driving dynamics offered by the Ford S-Max, making it ideal for families who value space and refinement. The Renault Grand Scenic is a worthy alternative, but the Citroën's larger dimensions and more flexible seating arrangements give it the edge for those needing maximum practicality.
