A nice little car, runs well, engine a bit noisy. Happy with the Bluetooth speakers.

I love this car and the man who sold it to me. Compared to my fiat 500 it feels like a proper car. I have in the past had a Peugeot 205 and 106. I love it has knobs on the radio and am very happy with the rear view camera which I’ve never had before.

Great spec on the car, loads of room in the front. Lovely car for running around town in. Easy to park, rear cameras are a bonus. Great on fuel consumption, no road tax. Very happy with my purchase

Peugeot 108 (2014-2020) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Very easy to drive | Very small boot, even for a city car |
| Lots of different colours and finishes | Some rivals are cheaper to insure |
| Affordable running costs | Early entry-level cars lack air conditioning |
Quick Summary
The Peugeot 108 (2014-2020) is a diminutive city car that shares its platform with the Citroën C1 and Toyota Aygo. Available in three- and five-door bodystyles, and uniquely with a retractable fabric roof on TOP! models, the 108 is an entry-level Peugeot offering simple mechanicals and rock-bottom running costs. At less than 3.5 metres long with a 9.6-metre turning circle, it's supremely easy to park and navigate city streets, making it popular with learners and first-time buyers. The engine line-up comprises two small petrol units: a 68bhp 1.0-litre and an 82bhp 1.2-litre, with most paired to a five-speed manual gearbox.
The 108 is most at home in urban environments, where its nimble handling and light controls inspire confidence. Whilst not ideal for motorway driving due to noise levels, it's surprisingly fun through corners and can keep pace with more powerful machines. Fuel economy is impressive across the range, with 1.0-litre models achieving around 53-54mpg and 1.2-litre versions around 50mpg. Cars registered before April 2017 benefit from zero Vehicle Excise Duty, whilst insurance premiums remain affordable. The 2018 facelift brought subtle updates, and by 2021 the range was streamlined to Active, Allure, and Collection trims with improved infotainment featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Best for: First-time buyers, learners, city dwellers, and those seeking affordable, cheerful budget transport with low running costs and easy manoeuvrability.
Not ideal for: Drivers requiring spacious boot capacity, those doing extensive motorway miles, or buyers prioritising the latest safety technology and autonomous features.
Comparison vs Key Rivals

|---|---|---|---|---|
| Peugeot 108 | 3/5 | 4.8/5 | 32.4% | 4.1/5 |
| Kia Picanto | 4/5 | 4.5/5 | 33.9% | 4.3/5 |
| Toyota Aygo | 3/5 | 4.8/5 | 36.0% | 4.4/5 |
| Volkswagen Up | 4/5 | 4.6/5 | 34.2% | 4.3/5 |
The Verdict
You should buy the 108 if: You're a first-time buyer or learner seeking affordable, easy-to-drive city transport with low running costs and excellent manoeuvrability.
Consider alternatives if: You require spacious boot capacity, plan extensive motorway driving, or prioritise the latest safety technology and autonomous features.
Competitive Position: The Peugeot 108 (2014-2020) is a capable city car offering excellent value as a used purchase. Whilst rivals like the Toyota Aygo and Kia Picanto score marginally higher on CarGurus ratings, the 108 remains a sensible choice for budget-conscious buyers. Its diminutive size, easy driving characteristics, and affordable running costs make it ideal for urban environments. However, those seeking more spacious accommodation or advanced safety features may find newer competitors more appealing. The 108's charm lies in its simplicity, affordability, and cheerful character rather than cutting-edge technology.
