Skoda Enyaq (2025) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Strong value compared with rival electric SUVs | Pre-2025 cars have less generous standard equipment |
| Excellent passenger space and a large boot | Touchscreen can be slow to respond on earlier models |
| Comfortable ride and well-judged handling | Sporty vRS version prioritises pace over enjoyment |
Quick Summary
The Skoda Enyaq is a fantastic family electric SUV that stands comparison with anything else of a similar size, regardless of power source. It's spacious, comfortable, quiet, feels classy and is excellent to drive. The 2025 update sharpens the design, improves efficiency and adds more standard kit, whilst maintaining the Enyaq's winning formula. With a 585-litre boot and limo-like rear passenger space, it majors on interior space and practicality. The Enyaq comes in three distinct flavours: the standard SUV, the sportier Coupe, and the high-performance vRS, all based on Volkswagen Group's MEB platform.
More than that, it's great value for an electric car with this range and level of practicality. The Enyaq 60 produces 201bhp and offers 268-269 miles of official WLTP range, whilst the Enyaq 85 delivers 282bhp and 336-365 miles. Charging speeds are excellent, with the Enyaq 85 supporting DC rapid charging at up to 175kW, achieving a 10-80% charge in 28 minutes. Company car tax is remarkably cheap at just 3% BiK, and with access to off-peak EV tariffs, running costs are significantly lower than petrol or diesel equivalents. Even with optional extras factored in, the Enyaq remains one of the best electric family cars available.
Best for: Families seeking a spacious, comfortable and practical electric SUV with excellent value, those prioritising long-range capability and low running costs, and buyers wanting a classy, well-equipped EV without premium badge pricing.
Not ideal for: Those wanting a seven-seat option, buyers seeking a front boot for cable storage, or those preferring a more thrilling driving experience in the vRS variant.

| Skoda Enyaq | 5/5 | N/A | 36.4% | 4.0/5 |
| Volkswagen ID.4 | 4/5 | N/A | 34.7% | 3.9/5 |
| Kia e-Niro | 5/5 | 5.0/5 | 24.8% | 4.4/5 |
| Ford Mustang Mach-E | 4/5 | 5.0/5 | 29.4% | 4.3/5 |
The Verdict
You should buy the Enyaq if: You're seeking a spacious, comfortable and practical electric SUV with excellent value, prioritising long-range capability and low running costs, or wanting a classy, well-equipped EV without premium badge pricing.
Consider alternatives if: You need a seven-seat option, require a front boot for cable storage, or prefer a more thrilling driving experience in a performance variant.
Competitive Position: The Skoda Enyaq is a standout contender in the electric SUV market, offering exceptional value, practicality and comfort that rivals anything of a similar size. Whilst the Kia e-Niro matches it on expert rating and boasts stronger user reviews, the Enyaq's superior space, more generous standard equipment on 2025 models, and lower pricing make it the more compelling choice for families. The Volkswagen ID.4 is a solid alternative, but the Enyaq feels more refined and better equipped. The Ford Mustang Mach-E prioritises style over practicality, making the Enyaq the sensible choice for those wanting substance over flash.
