Toyota Verso (2013-2018) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |

| Clever and practical cabin | Short on luggage space if all seven seats are in place |
| Reliable, hassle-free family motoring | Dull looks, even for an MPV |
| Affordable used prices | Not all engines were available with an auto |
Quick Summary
The Toyota Verso (2013-2018) is a practical and reliable seven-seater family MPV that prioritises functionality over fashion. This generation offers a flexible cabin with seats that slide and fold to accommodate varying combinations of passengers and luggage. The middle row splits three ways, whilst both rear rows fold completely flat, transforming the Verso into a spacious cargo carrier. Available in five- or seven-seater configurations, the post-2013 facelifted models feature slimmer grilles and updated headlights. With a five-star EuroNCAP crash rating and comprehensive Pre-Sense safety systems, it provides excellent protection for families.
Running costs are impressively low, with the 1.6-litre diesel achieving 62.8mpg and petrol engines returning 41.5-43.5mpg. Service intervals are straightforward at 12 months or 10,000 miles, and Toyota's 5-Club offers 20% savings on servicing for vehicles over five years old. Insurance groupings range from 10 to 11, keeping premiums budget-friendly. Whilst the Verso lacks the visual appeal and interior space of some rivals, its bulletproof reliability, affordable pricing, and effortless driving characteristics make it an outstanding choice for families seeking hassle-free motoring.
Best for: Families prioritising practicality and reliability, those needing flexible seating arrangements, and budget-conscious buyers seeking low running costs and minimal maintenance hassles.
Not ideal for: Buyers seeking premium styling, those wanting an engaging driving experience, or those requiring maximum luggage space with all seats in place.

Consider alternatives if: You prioritise premium styling, engaging driving dynamics, or maximum luggage space with all seats deployed.
Competitive Position: The Toyota Verso (2013-2018) stands out in the family MPV market for its exceptional reliability and user satisfaction, boasting a perfect 5.0 user rating. Whilst the Volkswagen Touran offers more deals and a slightly higher expert rating, the Verso's bulletproof Toyota engineering, affordable pricing, and hassle-free ownership make it an outstanding value proposition. 5 Overall rating
(4 reviews)Very Good because family useful and long trip very safe
Best car I have ever owned. There is nothing else out there you can compare it to.
The Toyota Verso model is better from the point that its six speed gear box, key start, & is 100% reliable The Corolla Verso is five speed & is push button start, thats not clever during the winter months
This car can almost pass for a 5seater when looking from exterior. Its just the right size stops you feeling like you drive a truck.
