The rapidly expanding compact EV sector will gain another model this summer, when the 2026 Cupra Raval goes on sale. It’s Cupra’s smallest model yet and will be a rival for cars such as the Kia EV2, Renault 5 E-Tech and closely related Volkswagen ID.Polo.
Here’s what we know so far about the 2026 Cupra Raval.

2026 Cupra Raval: styling and dimensions
The Cupra Raval has the edgy, rather aggressive look we’ve come to expect from the Spanish brand. From some angles it looks much like a scaled-down version of the mid-sized Cupra Tavascan crossover, while the front end is similar to that of the recently updated Cupra Born hatchback.
Dramatic diagonal body creases and a chunky bootlid spoiler give the Raval a suitably sporty appearance, while there are flush door handles and alloy wheels of up to 19 inches in diameter.
At 4,046mm long, the Raval is about the same length as Seat’s Ibiza supermini, but a height of 1,514mm is closer to that of its Arona compact crossover. Overall, the Raval has very similar dimensions to the forthcoming Volkswagen ID.Polo that it shares its basic platform and many parts with. The Kia EV2 is also a very similar size, while the Renault 5 E-Tech is slightly smaller and the Renault 4 E-Tech is slightly larger.
2026 Cupra Raval: interior design and practicality
The Cupra Raval has a definite family resemblance to the brand’s larger Born and Terramar models inside, with a pared-back interior design featuring a horizontally split dashboard and a large centre screen. It’s stylish yet fairly conventional, unlike the Cupra Tavascan’s outlandish V-shaped dashboard.
Although there’s a minimum of buttons and most functions are controlled through the centre screen, the Raval has ‘proper’ (rather than ‘haptic’) switches on the steering wheel and four individual electric window switches on the driver’s door.

Interior space is likely to be on a par with most rivals, with enough for four adults to sit in reasonable comfort. The images released show a very useful-looking console between the front seats, with various storage spaces for clutter.
Boot capacity is quoted as 430 litres to the load cover. That’s huge by class standards – more than the Kia EV2 can offer with its sliding rear seat pushed forward and 10 litres up on the larger Renault 4 E-Tech.
2026 Cupra Raval: engines and driving dynamics
The Cupra Raval will be offered a choice of battery packs and power outputs, with each dependent on which trim level you go for.
Entry-level models have a 37kWh battery and a power output of 113bhp, while the next step up features the same battery but a 133bhp output. The larger battery is a 52kWh unit, available with either 207bhp or, in the case of the sportiest VZ model, 222bhp. Maximum charging rates are fairly modest, at 90kW for the smaller battery and 105kW for the larger one, but Cupra says a 10-80% charge will take about 25 minutes with either version.
Maximum range is on a par with most rivals, at approximately 186 miles with the smaller battery and up to 276 miles with the larger one.
Here’s the full rundown:
| Battery size | Power output | Maximum range | Max. charge rate |
|---|---|---|---|
| 37kWh | 113/133bhp | 186 miles (approx.) | 90 kW |
| 52kWh | 207/222bhp | 250/276 miles | 105 kW |
Cupra’s status as the sporty member of the Volkswagen Group family means the Raval is likely to be tuned for a more lively feel than the Skoda Epiq and VW ID.Polo it’s closely related to. All versions have front-wheel drive, while VZ models have an electronic limited-slip differential to maximise grip and control through corners.
2026 Cupra Raval: price and release date
Prices for the 2026 Cupra Raval start at £23,785. That gets you the entry-level Origin model, which has standard features such as 18-inch alloy wheels and heated front seats. V1 and V2 trim add increasing levels of equipment, and give you the option of the larger battery and more power. Range-topping VZ trim is the Raval in its sportiest form, with the most powerful battery/motor combo and extras such as bucket seats.
More details of the Cupra Raval are expected to be announced closer to its on-sale date in summer 2026.
